The similarities between Satoshi Kon’s Paprika and Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Paprika, a cautionary anime tale where a dream recording device called the DC-Mini is stolen from a psychiatric research facility and the thief causes mayhem by intertwining the patients’ nightmares with the staff’s dreams, helped inspire Nolan’s Inception. This reminds me of all the stans who like to claim that Inception is so original!!!!!1!!!11
When will Hollywood stop stealing ideas?
then they’d go out of business.
Nothing exists in a vacuum anyway. Something is bound to be a copy of something else eventually. Even with the lack of lower budget movies the industry would consider risky these days.
Case in point: Paprika and Inception are also both inspired by the same book so yes, nothing exists in a vacuum. I love Paprika, and I do think it’s really brilliant and Satoshi Kon does amazing things with it, but it too took inspiration from other things.
Yes. Also, I love both of these movies.
reblogging this again cuz i love it so much
